WELCOME TO MY FIBROMYALGIA & ARTHRITIS WEBSITE
THIS SITE IS IN THE PROGRESS OF BEING UPDATED OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF MONTHS:
Hi… I’m A.J. and a FMS sufferer for several years, and in September 2006, my consultant was concerned that I may have Osteoarthritis, but having further investigated into early 2007, I was diagnosed with having Rhuematoid Arthritis. I am now on Methotrexate which has really helped.
However, back to those that do not know what FMS stands for, it is medically known as Fibromyalgia Syndrome. Fibromyalgia is the term used for a Rheumatic Type Condition, previously referred to as Soft Tissue Rheumatism, Fibrosis, or Non-Articular Rheumatism. Unlike common Degenerative Arthritis, which involves the joints, Fibromyalgia attacks the Soft Tissues, such as the muscles, tendons and ligaments.
It is now 2008 and I am 37, but most days I feel twice as old, with severe aches and pains that move from one area to another, I can be extremely bad tempered and moody when the pain is bad and frustrated from the excessive fatigue caused from the lack of sleep, night after night... At most I manage 4 hours on good nights. Bad nights I am lucky to get up to 2-3 hours. On the outside, apart from looking tired, stiff and pale I can look as normal as the next person, but on the inside I feel like a women twice my age, and get frustrated and angry at the way I feel. I used to say Why Me? and then I thought, Well Why Not…
Life is life, and you have to accept what life throws at you, whether it is good or bad. We make our own destiny in life. Well you can either mope about feeling sorry for yourself, as I have done in the past, or you can make use of a situation and help others with your own understanding on how they feel as I hope to do now with this website.
There is nothing worse for any FMS suffer to be told it's all in the mind... by people who do not understand the physical and mental pain you are suffering. From Doctors who scratch their heads, because despite all the numerous blood tests, x-rays, pulling and prodding, they still can not believe that this medical problem can create such pain without being picked up by the usual conventional techniques that they use on other symptoms, and our own continued anger and frustration of having to wait so long for medical appointments to arrive, only to have them cancelled and re-issued at a later day, because of our forever declining health service. Now, I do not blame the medical staff, who work tirelessly to help people, but not enough money comes from the Government to help treat medical issues, and research the many health conditions that are in such desperate need of extra capital to find causes and treatments to help those that suffer.
I still find it amazing that I can locate more information on Fibromyalgia from other countries, such as the
So here it is, a website I have gradually put together and one that I hope you will not only find interesting, but also helpful with the many website links, postal addresses and homepages of other sufferers.
You are not alone and you do not suffer alone. Let us hope that in time with more research and from continuely educating people about Fibromyalgia (FMS), that we get more understanding to how we feel on a daily basis and that more treatments can be created to help ease the pain and fatigue we suffer. I'm only glad that the medication I am on helps my rhuematoid, otherwise life could be unbearable at times, and always hoping that oneday a treatment can be found to help alleviate the pain from the FMS.
If you would like to discuss this topic further or meet other suffers, tell us of the treatments or symptoms you have tried/suffered from, pick me up remedies, jokes and personal stories. Or if you think you may suffer from this condition and would like to know more, then, please join the forum. We would love too hear from you.
With Very Best Wishes Too All Of You.

Well, I love to sing and play my guitar and listen to the music of the Bee Gees, Robin Gibb and Barry Manilow who always bring a smile to my face. If you want too listen too some background music whilst you are viewing my pages, then please feel free to press on the Title track of your choice located at the bottom of each page. Don’t worry, there are other artists to listen too as I love most types of music, but please do not download because of the copyright laws.
Updated 2008: Having moved to Wales, I know longer run Acre Fen Pet Daycare or work as an internet based Canine Behaviourist, I now have other interests. However, my three dogs, our farm cat, the two ponies and our ex-race horse still continue to amuse me daily. Having moved enables me do as much or as little as I like, depending on how I feel.
I also enjoy watching Jim Carrey movies, Laurel & Hardy and Carry On films. These always make me laugh. Laughter is one of the best treatments to help you cope with FMS…
Then there is my husband. He is not only supportive, but makes me happy and we laugh regularly… If you have family that understands and supports you, then life can have many laughs…
Enjoy my background music.
